Terri Young, MD, MBA, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. An internationally renowned physician-scientist, Dr. Young joined the Department in 2014. With over 200 published peer-reviewed papers, Dr. Young has an impressive record of competitive grant funding. Her research involves the genetic studies of refractive errors, eye development and growth, and childhood glaucoma.
She is a Fellow of the American Ophthalmological Society, and Gold Fellow of the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She has Honor Awards from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Dr. Young received her B.A. from Bowdoin College; M.D. from Harvard Medical School; and M.B.A. from Duke University. She completed her ophthalmology residency training at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and a pediatric-ophthalmology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
