Deborah has over 30 years of experience in drug development and is the former CEO of Covance, the world’s most comprehensive drug development company; involved in all phases of drug development, from discovery throughout the product lifecycle and a market leader in early development and central laboratory services and Ph I-IV clinical trial management services. A $3B dollar company with 12,000 employees in over 100 countries. She started her career as a chemist and worked in a variety of position in regulatory affairs, marketing, scientific operations and division president. After leaving Covance, she has spent time in Board service; a trustee of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF); Director of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. a public company, a leader manufacturing of packaging components and delivery systems for injectable drugs and healthcare products. In addition, she serves as an Operating Partner for Health Care Cloud Capital, A specialized precisions healthcare fund focused exclusively on providing growth capital to scale-up precision health companies that significantly improve patient well being while reducing health care costs. The portfolio consists of complementary companies excelling in integrating and organizing complex, siloed data to power unique analytics and decision support. In her spare time, she enjoys adventure travel, cycling and is a certified yoga instructor.
